Meet Our Physical & Aquatic Therapists
Chesapeake Physical & Aquatic Therapy was established in August 2002 by Doug Rosener and Jared Goldstein. With a strong desire to give one-on-one per- sonalized care, Doug and Jared decided to leave the corporate physical therapy environment to start their own practice.

Jared Goldstein, M.P.T.


Jared Goldstein, MPT Physical Therapist - Jared received his Kinesiology Degree from University of Maryland and his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Practicing for more than ten years, Jared specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine. He has trained in many manual therapy techniques and has experience with patients of all ages, including many professional athletes in many different sports.


Doug Rosener, M.P.T.


Doug received his Masters in Physical Therapy at
University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Practicing since 1997 in out-patient orthopedics and sports medicine practices, Doug enjoys working with all types of orthopedic injuries and and has experience in many aspects of physical therapy, including: hands on aquatic therapy, myofasial release, strain and counterstrain, and neuromuscular techniques. Doug has worked with patients of all ages as well as professional athletes.

Erica Adams, DPT, Clinic Director

Erica received her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She enjoys working with both orthopedic and women's health patient populations. Erica uses a wide variety of manual techniques to treat all types of orthopedic conditions. She also is working toward her specialization in pelvic physical therapy and currently treats women's health conditions relating to urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain and dysfunction.

Kate Weschler, DPT

Kate received her doctorate in physical therapy from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She enjoys working with all orthopedic and neurological diagnoses using a variety of manual techniques, including the Graston Technique. Kate has a special interest in working with athletes and sports related injuries. Certified in Kinesio Taping.

Connie Nudell, DPT

Connie graduated with a Doctorate degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, after earning her undergraduate degree in Psychology. Connie is experienced and successful in the treatment of a wide variety of patients and conditions; especially orthopedic and neurological patients. Connie joins the CPAT team with 5 years of clinical experience, advanced training, and a special interest in treating concussion patients. Connie finds it very rewarding to help these patients return to their daily activities as well as sports. Being a competitive triathlete herself, Connie understands athletes and has a passion for treating those patients who have sport-related injuries, including post-surgical injuries.

Grant Sullivan, PT, DPT

Grant received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland College Park in 2010.  Following UMCP, he attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014. Grant has had the opportunity to work with numerous patient populations ranging from young to... less young, treating all conditions including neurological and orthopedic injuries.  Grant has worked in a variety of outpatient settings; his favorite being at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Ashley Simmons, DPT, Clinic Director

Ashley received her doctorate in physical therapy from University of Maryland, Baltimore.  She enjoys working with all types of orthopedic and neurological conditions.  Ashley was a professional dancer prior to becoming a physical therapist, and has a passion for rehabilitation and injury prevention in the dance population, as well as other athletes.  She is a certified Zumba instructor and incorporates yoga into her weekly exercise program.  Ashley is an active member of the APTA, Orthopedic section, and Performing Arts special interest group.

Jason Cain, DPT

Jason received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia and Master's of Science Physical Therapy from Armstrong Atlantic State University. He has been practicing physical therapy since 2007. He has an interest in using manual techniques (tissue/joint mobilization, dry needling...) to reduce pain and increase mobility, as well as educating patients with proper therapeutic exercises and self care techniques to empower them and allow for a patients to take active role in their recovery process.

Vijiya Rathod

Vijiya Rathod, MPT

Vijiya received her Physical Therapy degree from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1998 and has worked  with a wide variety of patients with various orthopedic and neurological deficits as well as patients with amputees for gait training and postural alignment.  She has worked both in geriatric settings as well as has extensive pediatric experience from her time working at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. There she treated both inpatients and outpatients from 0 to 18 both with both land and aquatic therapy.  She has a very holistic and manual approach to her therapy and loves what she does.  She has taken specialty courses in both aquatics and pediatrics and is pleased to be a part of Chesapeake and be able to offer her services to all populations along with offering her expertise in Pediatric Aquatic Therapy.

Courtney Smith, PTA,

Courtney received her Bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) in 2010. Following graduation, she worked as a personal training assistant director and as a physical therapy tech both of which, influenced Courtney's decision to pursue a career in physical therapy.  Courtney went on to earn her Associates degree in applied sciences from Montgomery College in 2014, where she graduated at the top of her class in the PTA program. Placing a great deal of emphasis on providing hands on treatment, Courtney enjoys working with all patient types and injuries, but has a special interest in athletes and dancers.Learn more...

Dionne Hawkins,MPT Clinic Director

Dionne graduated in 2004 from SUNY Upstate Medical University of Syracuse, NY with a Masters in Physical Therapy and a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL. She has treated various orthopedic conditions of the spine and extremities, but particularly enjoys working with pregnant women, educating them and their partners on the various ways physical therapy can positively impact the symptoms that come with pregnancy. Darren received his doctorate in physical therapy from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He enjoys working with various orthopedic conditions especially the athletic population. Darren is a former high school basketball player and track athlete and he uses those experiences to relate to the athletic population.

Jody Boyer, PTA

Jody graduated from Anne Arundel Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science, as a Physical Therapist Assistant, May 2005 Jody has been practicing for 10 years, and joined the Chesapeake Physical and Aquatic Therapy team in 2011. She enjoys working with all types of injuries but has a special interest in the rehab process of sports injuries/surgeries. Jody enjoys using manual techniques such as MET, TPR, STM and MFR to help improve patients to return to their daily activities or sport.   Jody practices in CPAT’s Elkridge office and takes pride in the close relationship he has with her patients.

Amy is a Physical Therapist Assistant who graduated from The Pennsylvania State University (Go Penn State!) in 2010. Since graduating she has worked in a variety of clinical settings which has allowed her to expand upon her physical therapy knowledge and treatment techniques. She has taken many continuing education courses in orthopedics and vestibular rehabilitation.
